Update and recent changes
On Sunday the new update for Phiadaria - Rise of the Ancestors has finally been released. Together with the update, we also improved the website and added a new modern look to it.
In addition to that we moved the entire backend to a new and final version to ensure a more flexible integration of the Game Client, the Game Server and the Website. We have also worked on a new API, allowing us to call directly certain values from the backend. This will ensure that plenty of additional data can be added to the website within a short amount of time and allows an almost endless possibility to extend it with features.
Which features will follow soon regarding the website?
- * Server live statistics (Uptime, Status, Online Players, spawned Monsters)
- * Scheduled raids and boss spawns including possible upcoming raids
- * Live tracking for killed creatures and players
- * Forum accessable with your Phiadaria account
- * New gallery with new screenshots
What else did we change with the update?
- * Reset of all characters because of compatibility issues
- * Added plenty of new game content (missions and tasks)
- * Added many new items and sets
- * Added plenty of new crafting plans
- * Added new Phiadaria backend for easier updates in the future
- * Adjusted plenty of monsters to make them a little easier during combat
- * Fixed plenty of reported issues and glitches
- * Fixed game performance to allow a huge number of players to join
- * Removed access to certain locations for now as they are going to be redesigned
Please note: Our stretch goal was in first place to finish chapter 1 with this update, which didn't work out at all. We had tons of open issues and things we wanted to put into this version. Turned out that these parts took longer then expected. However: We are glad to present the first release of an entire new backend which should get rid of possible issues we encountered in the past. Up to that we are on the final stage to edit new content very quickly and to interact with the new website even more. A detailed article about the next steps will follow during the next days.
The reset of the characters had to be done because we changed plenty of things behind the scenes, including the engine to store saved data. Accounts will remain as they are, but characters and all content had to be wiped. Those who played before will receive a special note soon, as we have something in mind we couldn't get to work last-minute.
With todays server save we have also added another adjustment for the thiefing system, which is now more fair to everyone. Instead of single item spawns which can only be stolen by one player per day, the new system will allow every player to steal certain items. Up to that it is now no longer possible to steal items more than once, preventing players to gain an unfair advantage against other players.
Of course we will be working hard to extend the game within the next weeks even more and to modify the client in a way to interact directly with our new Api, which will ensure that all features available on the website can also get accessed by the client.
This will also include the new forum we are working on, which will be an own solution. More of this will following during the next weeks.
